„Grandpa’s house” – Ruhovtsi

The house is located 6 kilometers from the town of Elena. You will travel on road II Gorna Oryanovetsa-Elena-Sliven turning right on the sign that says Sliven. After about 5 kilometers you will turn right again and travel for another kilometer till you see a fork in the road which is also the entrance to the village. The house is located around 150 meters from the center of the village. There will be a white sign showing you the direction to the rest house. Once you reach the house you will see a white flag on the roof.

Included in the house are 5 bedrooms, two of them having 3 beds, and the other three rooms having two beds. All rooms have its own private toilet and shower. The guests can prepare there own meals in the kitchen or dinning room. There are also prepared meals in the tavern along with a cozy fireplace for a relaxing meal. If you would like, the owners can prepare for their guest baked or roasted lamb, pork, banista (type of pastry), and homemade yogurt. Guest can also prepare meals outside in the garden where there is an outside oven and dining table.

If called in advance, the owners of the house provide transportation to guests from the town of Elena to the village of Ruhovtsi.

Close to the house are eco trails, along them is the popular water fall called -Vodopada as well as Yovkovtsi Dam. Along the river there are picnic tables and BBQ pits. At the river you can fish or swim during the hot summer months. Guest can also fish for a particular fish such as carp at the Yokovotsi Dam. There is a church nearby, some say that during the visit guest can get a feeling of the old revival spirit that once was felt in the church. After visiting the church it is recommended to go to the folk group center. Children can play on the football playground.
