Infrastructure
When you travel by car crossing the northern part of Bulgaria on the highway Sofia-Varna, after Veliko Tarnovo you have to turn aside to Elena following the Varna direction. It’s possible the Debelets and Plakovo road to be used too but it is narrow and badly kept. In case you are coming from the south of Bulgaria the well kept Sliven- Stara reka- Elena road should be followed or thoroughfare Tvarditsa- Elena. The latter is not usable in winter. In case you’ve decided to travel by coach there`s a regular bus transport from Veliko Tarnovo, Gorna Oryahovitsa and Sliven. Nowadays the railway transport is one of the cheapest ways for travelling, unfortunately there’s not a passenger train connecting Elena to the main railway stations. The guests could use Gorna Oryahovitsa railway station which is the third biggest in the country. There’s a regular bus transport (4 times a day) from the station to the town of Elena.
